Arrrt and Life in Progress...

I usually have a million things going on at once: I love my life, but between kids, hubby, uni, work and household I rarely get time for my passions - writing, art & design.

But I did manage to take some time out over the last few days and as I am starting a series of works focusing on image, fragility of self efficacy and esteem, consummerist behaviour to image and why advertising is so convincing... it's early days so far, but I hope to have a full exhibition ready in a few weeks! Yay!

Which brings me back to my life - for ages I thought *this* was what I wanted. But things change. I've changed. Our regular Sunday jaunts to the Markets of a morning to buy fresh fruit, veg and yummy homemade preserves, get free face painting for the kids and admire the stallholders wares... has me inspired. Possibly why I am now spending more time in my studio either typing up essays on poetry (and enjoying it!) or creating my new peices of art.

To the point that we feel a tree-change coming on! Next week, a visit to my parents' in country NSW is the start of the planning process for the next stage of our life. Acres. Chooks. Thai fisherman pants. I'll still make my Sunday Baked Egg brunch, but the most enjoyable part would be my parents joining their grandchildren, my nephew playing with his cousins and my children learning the value of extended family.
